'CARE-NORTH final conference', Bremen, Germany
The North Sea region is working to deal with the effects of climate change. However, the traditional understanding of transport is leading to a continued increase in carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions, undermining other climate protection efforts.
Funded by the European Union within the European Regional Development Fund, the 'Carbon responsible transport - the challenge' (CARE-NORTH) project has sought to develop a comprehensive, strategic and practical approach to urban and regional transport/accessibility in the North Sea region in the context of climate change and declining oil supplies.
The event will be an opportunity for all partners and stakeholders and researchers to discuss project results and exchange information on mobility. Topics set to be covered include:
- urban transport and CO2 emissions from a global perspective;
- RIO+20 and the EU 20-20-20 energy targets;
- alternative fuels, propulsion and electric cars;
- new mobility trends for sustainability: car-sharing, walking and cycling enhancements;
- efficiency and affordability of public transport services.For further information, please visit: http://www.care-north.eu/final-conference(opens in new window)
