First Biomarker Meeting in Reproductive Medicine, Valencia, Spain
Reproductive medicine is a branch of medicine that deals with prevention, diagnosis and management of reproductive problems. The field has seen increased interest as many European countries have seen their fertility rates plummet over the last decades.
Founded on knowledge of reproductive anatomy, physiology, and endocrinology, reproductive medicine incorporates relevant aspects of molecular biology, biochemistry and pathology. Biomarkers are commonly used as signposts to evaluate the potential of contaminants to disrupt the endocrine system.
The aim of the conference will be to provide researchers with knowledge of the rapidly developing diagnostic technologies which may help better assess ovarian reserve, gametes, embryos and endometrium at the four basic levels of cell biology: the DNA, RNA, protein and metabolites. The meeting will also examine how the surrounding environment of the embryo can be assessed for proteins and metabolites produced by individual embryos and how these relate to viability. For further information, please visit: http://www.comtecmed.com/biomarker/2012/welcome.aspx(opens in new window)
