'Ecology of blue straggler stars', Santiago, Chile
Blue straggler stars are stellar oddities that have been found in a wide variety of environments. They are main sequence stars in open or globular clusters that are more luminous and bluer than stars at the main sequence turn-off point for the cluster. First discovered in 1953, blue stragglers are still a subject of intense research.
The event will bring together theoreticians, specialists and observers in order to compose a complete picture of the progress in the field. The programme will features extended invited reviews, contributing talks and space for posters. For further information, please visit: http://www.eso.org/sci/meetings/2012/bss2012.html(opens in new window)
