Sixth International Conference on Advanced Technologies and Treatment for Diabetes, Paris, France
Europe counts approximately 60 million people who live with diabetes, with over 50% of them being unaware of their condition. This is mostly due to sedentary lifestyles and unhealthy diets. Recent technology advances have allowed for improved diabetes healthcare that go beyond home blood glucose monitoring and insulin pumps. Whilst these technologies, either available now or upcoming, will bring relief to patients, they also imply considerable changes in patients' lifestyle that are often very demanding and frustrating.
One example of enhancement regards glycemic control in children, with insulin pumps and continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) systems. These technologies provide ease patients' daily life while providing them information about their glucose fluctuations. A deeper understanding and appreciation of the impact of diabetes technology on patients is critical for both medical and psychological treatments for diabetes.
The forum will be bringing together researchers who will exchange views on the latest treatments, prevention of diabetes and related illnesses. For further information, please visit: http://www2.kenes.com/attd/Pages/home.aspx(opens in new window)
