11th International POG Conference: Reactive Oxygen and Nitrogen Species in Plants, Warsaw, Poland
Reactive oxygen and nitrogen species (ROS/RNS) have been identified as key actors in the response of plants to both biotic and abiotic stresses. Defence genes are activated by factors such as pathogens, temperature, humidity and environmental stress, suggesting the existence of a complex signalling network that allows the plant to recognize and protect itself. This issue is of major importance to agricultural research, due to the vast economic losses caused by biotic and abiotic stress to cash crops. The relationship between the plant's stress and plant's yield affects economic decisions as well as practical development.
This conference will be a forum for attendees from various interdisciplinary groups to discuss the advances in the metabolism of reactive oxygen and nitrogen species in plants. It will cover different aspects of plant cell metabolism, plant development, redox signalling, abiotic and biotic stress effects, as well as antioxidative defence.For further information, please visit:
