Fluid therapy consists in the administration of fluids to patients as a treatment or preventative measure. It can be administered through intravenous, intraperitoneal, intraosseous, subcutaneous and oral routes. With the community making a shift from looking at fluids as a mere method of stabilization to the appreciation of its relevant side effects, this therapy has become increasingly common.
