Sustainable construction refers to environmental concerns, health aspects and issues of convenience. Buildings account for the largest share of the total EU final energy consumption (42%) and produce about 35% of all greenhouse emissions. In order to reduce their environmental impact, the way they are built and designed needs to be reconsidered.
The conference covers different aspects related to the mechanical failure of structures and machine components, with a focus on tribology and fatigue in today's constructions.
