On Tuesday, the Secretary-General of the United Nations Ban Ki-moon urged member countries to act decisively to tackle the "growing crisis" of climate change, as international negotiations kicked into high gear in Doha, Qatar. He notably insisted on the melting of icecaps, rising sea levels, land degradation and drought in various parts of the world.
In Europe, we have seen a year of extreme, record-breaking weather that has served as a timely reminder of the need to invest now to soften the consequences of climate change.
