The First International Workshop on Human Mobility Computing will be held on 3 June 2013 in Milan, Italy.

Over the past few years, data capturing aspects of human mobility - such as mobile phone records, GPS traces of vehicles and pedestrians, ticketing logs of public transportation, geo-tagged Web objects, photos and videos as well as records from roadside sensor networks - have become widely available. This has given a new, empirically driven momentum to human mobility computing as an emerging concept.

As we gain deeper understanding of many aspects of human life, we have a better chance to develop effective strategies and build intelligent systems that play critical roles in areas like public health, traffic engineering, urban planning and economic forecasting.

The workshop will bring together researchers, engineers and practitioners who are interested in discussing, managing, mining and understanding human mobility. It will provide them with a platform to discuss issues and challenges, share information on the state applications, as well as present their ideas and contributions. For further information, please visit
