'Poverty and Disability in Developing Countries', London, UK
Disability has often been associated with poverty, but comparatively little rigorous quantitative research has been undertaken. Environmental barriers, limited access to education and services, poor states of social services due to economic restrains, and discriminatory attitudes and practices are some of the key elements that drive disabled people into poverty.
The conference will discuss quantitative measures of disability while integrating disability issues into economic development activities in poor and middle income countries. For further information, please visit
