The next 'Cleantech Forum Europe' will be held from 16 to 18 April 2013 in Bilbao, Spain.
In a remarkably short time, economic globalisation has changed the world's economic order, bringing new challenges and opportunities. Europe cannot compete in this new environment unless it becomes more innovative and responds more effectively to global demands. The European Union possesses extraordinary potential for innovation as it has a longstanding tradition of producing breakthrough inventions.
Europe has a wealth of creative people and can build on its cultural diversity. However, citizens and consumers are less impressed by new technological advances. The computer age sped up the rate of invention and innovation, and people have become accustomed. Today, consumers expect new inventions and innovations to drop at an alarmingly high rate, and rarely, nowadays, do they seem impressed, even though they should.
