The Eight IAG International Conference on Geormorphology will take place from 27 to 31 August, 2013 in Paris, France.

Geomorphology can be regarded as the 'science of scenery'. It seeks to explain how landscapes develop over time, in particular through the operation of earth surface processes such as erosion, landsliding and river flows and their interactions. The link between scientific research and environmental policy, however, is far from automatic.

Organised by the International Association of Geomorphologists, the conference will include 26 scientific sessions, five keynote lectures and a Workshop devoted to Young Geomorphologists. The event will be an opportunity to discuss how scientists can integrate their research into a wider body of knowledge, discuss ideas with stakeholders and explain the significance of their research findings to a wider audience.

Before, during and after the Conference, about twenty field trips in various parts of France and neighbouring countries will be proposed to participants.For further information, please visit:
