Achieving global food security, while at the same time ensuring environmental sustainability, is one of the greatest challenges facing mankind. By 2050 some 9 billion people will need to be fed. The urgency of the issue has led to a number of scientific advances in a relatively short space of time, making it difficult to keep up with the rapidly expanding volume of research.
The conference will address food production and access, and the trade-offs between competing environmental, economic and social objectives.
