'World e-ID Congress', Nice, France
Digital or electronic IDs are key elements in the identification of a person, and can be based on passwords, qualified certificates, ID cards and PIN codes, or other devices such as mobile phones. However, several barriers to free movement of workers still exist in the EU: for example, it is not easy to access public services while working or living in another country. The European Commission has launched and implemented various solutions to offer e-ID within an EU-wide system for the recognition and authentication of electronic identity (e-ID via electronic cards or other means). Its aim has been to enable businesses and citizens to safely use their national electronic identities and get help from public administrations in any Member State they live in or travel to.
The conference will focus on mobile ID applications and deployments by governments, enterprises and banks. Emphasis will also be put on a global approach reinforced with specific sessions on Africa and the emerging countries that have partnership with the World Bank. Finally, the eventual harmonization of policies, cross border issues, travel document vs. mobile ID with smartphones, etc. will also be discussed.
The conference will bring together over 350 e-ID programs managers, government officials and technology experts involved in some of the world's main e-ID projects to discuss policy trends and latest innovations. For further information, please visit:
