Second International Workshop on Ontologies Meet Advanced Information Systems (OAIS), Genoa, Italy
Information Systems are record-sensitive and crucial data to support day-to-day business applications and decision making processes. Ontology provides added value for handling the explicit semantics carried by the concepts, data and instances of models, thus developing new user interfaces or reconciling data and/or models with external ones. This often requires some kind of reverse engineering processes for making data semantic explicit.
Nowadays, ontology is meant to make the information in several research and application domains more explicit. It is used across a large spectrum of fields such as: semantic web, information integration, database design, e-Business, data warehousing, data mining, system interoperability, formal verification. Over the last five year, a number of interactions between ontology and information systems have emerged.
The event will be an opportunity for attendee to exchange ideas and discuss the contribution of ontology for designing high quality information systems as well as present new research and technological developments that use ontology all across the life cycle of information systems. For further information, please visit:
