The First International Conference on Data Management and Security (DATA 2013) will be held from 7 to 9 May 2013 in Alicante, Spain.

Today, data resides everywhere - in mobile devices, on the cloud, on social media platforms. This is creating massive amounts of data, forcing organizations to move beyond traditional silted perimeter to a multi-perimeter approach in which security intelligence is applied closer to the target. With recent breaches of high profile customer data, consumer confidence in data protection standards is on shaky ground. As a result, businesses will increasingly focus on determining how much they are willing to invest to protect their customers' personally identifiable information - through secure storage, compliance with legislation, and the tools required to accomplish those tasks effectively.

Maintaining security control over mobile devices, mitigating internal and external threats, reducing security risks in cloud environments, extending database security to gain real-time insights into big data environments are real challenges that need to be addressed.

The conference will focus on modern techniques being applied in data management and knowledge acquisition, with applications in a broad variety of fields. It will also discuss recent developments in data security systems. For further information, please visit:
