'The International Congress: Mobility and Road Safety in an Ageing Society' will be held from 19 to 20 June 2013 in Vienna, Austria.
In Europe, the elderly is the fastest growing segment of the population. According to current estimates, one in four persons will be aged 65 or over in 2030. Efficient transport infrastructure is crucial to this segment of the population. As people age, a number of factors can indeed threaten mobility, including impaired ability to drive, limited availability of alternative forms of transportation and unwillingness to be dependent upon others.
