OpenChina-ICT's 'Thematic Workshop on Smart and Sustainable Cities' will be held on 31 May 2013 in Guangzhou, China.

The FP7-funded OpenChina-ICT project aims to contribute significantly to the facilitation of ICT related research cooperation between Europe and China. In this context, the workshop will give an overview of the status and perspectives of ICT research collaboration on Smart and Sustainable Cities, discuss sub-themes and identify short-term cooperation projects, gather inputs for the OpenChina-ICT 'EU-China Cooperation Plan', and, finally, provide a set of recommendations to policy makers on how to better foster EU-China collaboration in the future.

The workshop is organised by the OpenChina-ICT project under the aegis of the European Commission through its FP7 research-funding programme, aiming at facilitating ICT related research cooperation between Europe and China. It will bring together policy and main research stakeholders from Europe and China specialized in the ICT aspects of Smart and Sustainable Cities to create feasible research collaboration allowing for the emergence of concrete projects. For further information, please visit:
