A conference on 'Waters in Sensitive and Protected Areas' will be held from 13 to 15 June 2013 in Zagreb, Croatia.
Climate change is damaging the ecosystems of the Adriatic and the Black Sea basins, highly sensitive areas that are in large part protected by the Water Framework Directive and other EU legislation. Due to their extraordinary state of preservation, these areas are internationally recognized for their value both in terms ecosystem preservation and tourism. Recently it has been acknowledged that there is an increasing need to monitor and better protect these two basins.
The conference will provide an international forum for leading experts to discuss the need to further protect water resources and encourage experts and the general public to actively participate in this effort.For further information, please visit:
