A conference entitled 'The Prospects of Brain Research within Horizon 2020: Responding Efficiently to Europe's Societal Needs' will be held on 30 May 2013 in Brussels, Belgium.

Jointly organised by the Federation of European Neuroscience Societies, the European Brain Council and the European Science Foundation, the meeting brings together key stakeholders in brain research, health and innovation in Europe, and will be an important platform for sharing ideas and knowledge. Overall this should help better respond to one of the greatest scientific and societal challenges: the human brain and its diseases.

The conference will raise the profile of all brain diseases while contributing to the development of plans addressing these extremely important societal challenges.
