Cities are dynamic systems whose spatial development should be understood as a relational and complex process, and our society is now at a historic turning point. From oil-based economic growth and ICT-based technological novelty, the drivers of urban processes and their spatial and architectural manifestations are likely to evolve drastically over the next decades. Diversity, adaptability and innovation certainly provide a positive seed-bed for new ideas and practices in this regard.
Organized by the Finnish schools of architecture, the Symposium is the annual gathering for research in architecture, urban design and planning.
