An event entitled 'The Future of Urban Gardening' will be held on 27 June 2013 in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

Urban gardening or urban agriculture is the practice of cultivating, processing and distributing food in or around a village, town or city. As cities enlarge, farmlands are becoming scarcer, directly impacting our ability to harvest crops. In this context a growing need has developed for new technologies to assist sustainable farming in urban areas.

This conference will provide an insight into innovative practices aiming to create greener spaces in urban areas. Topics of discussion include food production, community development and food farming in urban wastelands.

With an aim to attract and inspire future generations of urban farmers and food producers, the conference will bring together environment specialists, agricultural experts and city planners to engage in dialogue on the future of urban food production.For further information, please visit:
