An event entitled 'English for Healthcare' will be held from 27 to 28 September 2013 in Locarno, Switzerland.
Communication is vital in delivering effective healthcare treatment. Over the last decade research into finding better methods to facilitate understanding of healthcare terminology has increased. Though this has led to a decrease in human error much remains to be discovered in this area of patient care.
This conference covers the use of English for Specific Purposes (ESP) to assist better comprehension of healthcare terminology. Topics of discussion include ESP in medical contexts, healthcare vocabulary, technical-language use and integrating English in professional subjects.
