The 'MESMA Final Conference' will be held from 8 to 10 October 2013 in Lisbon, Portugal.
Seas around Europe are home to an exceptionally wide range of marine habitats while simultaneously supporting a variety of human activities. These multiple uses have placed increasing pressure on marine and coastal areas thus aggravating eco-systems.
The EU-funded Monitoring and Evaluation of Spatially Managed Areas project - better known as MESMA - has spent the best part of the past 4 years developing methods to manage European seas and coastal areas.
