The 'Synthetic and Systems Biology Summer School', whose theme will be 'Biology meets Engineering and Computer Science', will take place from 15 to 19 June 2014 in Sicily, Italy.
The event is a full-immersion course on the cutting-edge advances in systems and synthetic biology, with lectures given by world-renowned experts. Given the recent advances in DNA synthesis, there is an increased ability to build biological systems and determining how these are to be designed will be a key focus over the four days.
Doctoral students, early career researchers and industry leaders are all being invited to attend the event which will also encourage peer to peer interaction and offer the opportunity for results to be presented.
