'The Social Brain' conference will take place from 5 to 8 October in Copenhagen, Denmark.

The conference, which is part of a new series of high-level bi-annual brain conferences in Europe, will focus on how the brain implements social interactions and how these affect the brain, in humans and in animals. The series is organised by the Federation of European Neuroscience Societies (FENS) in partnership with The Brain Prize to bring together researchers in key broadly defined areas of contemporary neuroscience and discuss current concepts and define challenges for future research. Some of The Social Brain conference topics will be: development of the social brain and of social behaviour during childhood and adolescence; interrelationships between social interactions and mental health and neurobiological mechanisms of social learning and motivation.

The three co-chairs of The Social Brain are Sarah J. Blakemore of UCL in the UK, Frans De Waal of Emory University in the USA and Giacomo Rizzolatti of the University of Parma in Italy. Registration is open until 25 July. The regular registration fee is EUR 750 with a discount available for grantees. For more information, please visit:
