Macau Conference on Industrial Cooperation with the Chinese Region in the Electricity Sector
For several years, the EU has cooperated with China in the energy field in order to improve its energy policy and management methods. Cooperation with China in this field has significant implications for EU energy policy objectives since China ranks third in terms of world energy production and consumption.
The conference will examine the electricity sector as one of the priority areas for future industrial cooperation between China and the EU. The following topics will be discussed:
- Needs and opportunities in the electricity sector in China;
- Clean and efficient electricity production and transmission;
- Innovative technologies for the rational use of electricity;
- Potential for financing relevant initiatives in these fields.
The conference will include presentations from key authorities, working groups to address key themes and site visits to Macau International Airport and the Macau Refuse Incineration Plant on Taipa Island, demonstrating the successful implementation of efficient technologies.
