International conference on progress in forest products research

An international conference entitled "Progress in forest products research" will take place in Gottingen, Germany, on 19-22 September 1995. The event is being organized by the European Office of Southern Lower Saxony in conjunction with the European Commission, DG XII, and the University of Gottingen.
The conference aims to present Community-supported research projects in the area of forestry. It will also provide a discussion and contact forum for representatives from the wood industry, State forest services, research institutes, universities and the European Commission.
Four parallel workshops will take place during the conference on the following:
- The European forest resources: Silviculture and wood quality;
- Solid timber: Progress in processing, products and quality;
- Wood composites: New technologies and products;
- Wood preservation and the environmental challenge.
