Promotion of CHP systems to major energy consumers

Within the framework of the THERMIE programme for energy efficient technologies, the Centre for Renewable Energy Sources (CRES), in cooperation with the Commission (DG XVII), is organizing a conference on the "Promotion of combined heat and power systems (CHP) to major energy consumers". It will take place in Thessaloniki, Greece, on 26 May 1995.
The aim of the conference is to inform the larger energy consumers in the industry and building sectors of the use of CHP and cogeneration systems. The emphasis will be more on financial and energy policy issues than technical ones. In particular, the conference aims to:
- Analyse the financial, legislative and technical framework of cogeneration;
- Present cogeneration applications in Greece and other European countries;
- Identify the barriers to the implementation of cogeneration technology;
- Examine the perspectives of cogeneration in the Greek, Balkan and European regions.
