The conference will focus on the new aid priorities for Central and Eastern Europe and the CIS, within the framework of the European Union's PHARE and TACIS programmes, the UK Foreign Office Know-How Fund and OECD policies.
The aims of the conference are to:
- Introduce the funds available for projects relating to democracy and local economic development;
- Introduce the procedures for applying for funding;
- Examine the best practice acquired so far in implementing projects in these areas;
- Acquire information on the present situation in these areas;
- Gain appreciation of the difficulties of project implementation in these areas.
The workshop is designed to maximize the chances of success for potential applicants under the abovementioned programmes. It will be run by expert contract winners who will cover strategies and tactics for writing successful project proposals, by means of exercises, case studies and one-to-one consultations.
