The European Science Foundation is organizing a conference on "Wetting and Capillarity" to be held in Crete, Greece, on 22-27 March 1996.

Topics covered by the conference will include:

- Theories of wetting and capillarity;
- Models and numerical simulations;
- Surfactants and liquid crystals;
- Polymers, including polymer adhesion;
- Wetting transitions and wetting of porous media;
- Biological systems;
- Applications such as flotation and oil recovery;
- Surface melting and disorder;
- New techniques for the investigation of surface properties.

The conference is supported by the European Commission under the Human Capital and Mobility programme of the Community's Third Framework Programme for research and technological development 1990-1994 (now the Training and Mobility of Researchers programme).
