A conference to launch the SOCRATES programme in Iceland will take place in Reykjavik on 22 September 1995.
The conference will introduce the aims and scope of the SOCRATES programme as well the potential for participation in the programme by interested parties in Iceland. The event will also cover the potential for participation in the ERASMUS programme.
The objectives of the SOCRATES programme are:
- Improvement in the quality of teaching through the dissemination of pedagogical innovations and practices and exchanges between teaching establishments;
- Mobility of students and teachers;
- Adaptation of training systems to new communication technologies;
- Reduction of school drop-outs and recognition of the need for continued education throughout the life cycle.
