Renewable energy awareness and rural development

A seminar entitled "Renewable Energy Awareness and Rural Development" will take place Bandon, Co. Cork, Ireland, on 22 September 1995.

The event is taking place within the framework of the ALTENER programme for the promotion of renewable energy sources in the Community (1993-1997). It will cover the following topics:

- Overview of renewable energies in rural communities in other countries;
- Energy requirements of rural-based projects;
- The potential and effects of renewable energies to the rural economy.
