BRITE-EURAM '95
A second call for proposals will be published at the end of 1995, covering production technologies, materials and technologies for product innovation and technologies for transport means.
The conference will enable potential proposers to receive final recommendations for preparing proposals for the second call and to hear the Commission outline its proposals for increased flexibility in relation to proposals for new research projects.
Mrs. Cresson will attend the conference and give a keynote speech on the Commission's new guidelines on concentrating and grouping European research projects around common strategic objectives, in response to the challenges posed by international competition. The three Commission task forces on the new generation of aeroplanes, the car of the future and the train of the future will also give presentations.
Topics to be covered include:
- The importance of R&D for future industries and the general quality of life;
- Tech-transfer for SMEs: synergies between the Innovation programme and BRITE-EURAM;
- New materials and quality control;
- Coordination of research actions in Europe;
- Recycling technologies R&D for sustainable development in Europe;
- Manufacturing technologies;
- Proposers' forum and poster exhibition;
- The industrial and technologies programme.
