Bibliotexpo Conference, Italy

The Bibliotexpo Conference, organized by the Italian Librarians' Association, will be held in Brescia, Italy, from 8-10 November 1995.

A variety of topics on librarians and libraries will be discussed in the context of the European Commission's R&D programmes in the areas of new technologies and training, in particular its LIBRARIES and IMPACT programmes. The following issues will also be covered:

- Identification and definition of the work of the librarian;
- The librarian in the new context of communication and information networks;
- Technical and managerial professionalism;
- The library in the context of the international information circuit;
- The profession in the context of the various typologies of libraries;
- Professional and academic priorities in university training in the field of library and information science;
- The training of librarians in France, Catalonia and Italy;
- The role of universities and the regions.
