An advanced workshop on dynamical modelling in biotechnology will be held in Turin, Italy, from 27 May to 8 June 1996. The event is being organized by the Turin Institute for Scientific Interchange, within the framework of the Community's specific R&D programme in the field of biotechnology.

The workshop will consist of lectures, the preparation of modelling projects and evening seminars. During the first three days students will be encouraged to work in groups of five. Various topics will be covered and some specific work on modelling will be included. Lectures will cover the following topics:

- Discreet models for simulating biological systems;
- Dynamical systems, qualitative theory and simulation;
- Monte Carlo simulation of biological ageing;
- Non-linear excitations and energy localization: application to biology;
- Neural networks;
- Cathalitic networks.

Three evening seminars will be given by outstanding scientists familiar with the interface between physics and biology.
