International symposium on "Work in the Information Society"

An international symposium on "Work in the Information Society" will be held in Helsinki, Finland, on 20-22 May 1996. The symposium is being organized by Finnish Institute of Occupational Health (FIOH), in collaboration with the European Commission (DG V) and the International Labour Office (ILO). The event is also being sponsored by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Finnish Work Environment Fund.

The symposium will include plenary lectures by internationally recognized scientists on the following themes:

- Technology development in view of occupational health and safety;
- Health and safety in the implementation of information technology: possibilities and problems;
- Impact on work in different sectors of economy;
- Training, education and information;
- Social and socio-economic aspects.
