Plasma physics summer school
The summer school, the thirty-third in a series organized at Culham, is supported by the UK Atomic Energy Authority, and the European Atomic Energy Community (Euratom). It aims to provide an introduction to the fundamental principles of plasma physics, together with a broad understanding of its fields of application.
The school will bring together postgraduate students from around the world, for a series of lectures given by leading researchers. It will include visits to experiments carried out under the European Community's specific programme for research and training in the field of controlled thermonuclear fusion, and the Joint European Torus (JET) joint undertaking. Topics to be covered by the course include: fusion plasmas; solar, space and astrophysical plasmas; laser plasmas; and generic topics such as reconnection, turbulence and computational techniques.
