Funding opportunities in Central and Eastern European and the former Soviet Union.
- Defence conversion in the former Soviet Union, London, UK, 25 March 1996: The workshop will cover developments in defence conversion and industrial restructuring programmes funded by the European Union and other aid agencies, with a particular focus on TACIS projects in Russia, Ukraine and Belarus. It will be led by Commission-appointed programme coordinators and policy advisers;
- The European Union Democracy Fund, London, UK, 27 March 1996: The workshop will provide participants with information on the European Union's Democracy Fund, jointly operated by the PHARE and TACIS programmes, which supports a variety of activities aimed at developing democratic institutions and practices in the countries of Central and Eastern Europe. These range from the development of parliamentary practice to assisting projects in the social development sectors;
- Opportunities for SMEs, London, UK, 23 April 1996: This workshop will look at the opportunities offered by the smaller EU-funded aid programmes, and by the British Know-How Fund, for the support of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) investing in Central and Eastern Europe. It will cover, in particular, the BISTRO, ACE, LIEN and TEMPUS programmes, and the EU Democracy Fund;
- Technical preparation of bids, London, UK, 14 June 1996: This workshop will provide participants with detailed information and "hands-on" experience of successful proposal preparation and strategies for successful bidding.
