The sixth Laser Interactions Conference-Crete, LIC-C'96, will take place in Heraklion, Greece, on 29-31 May 1996. The conference is being organized by the Foundation for Research and Technology-Hellas (FORTH), and the University of Crete. The series was initiated in 1993 and meetings have since been organized as Euroconferences within the framework of the Community's Human Capital and Mobility (HCM) programme.

The aim of the LIC-C meetings is to bring together young, promising European researchers with senior experts in the field, in an informal environment which allows the free exchange of information and ideas relevant to the particular problems addressed. The theme of this year's conference will be "The two or more electron problem in laser-atom interactions". Topics to be covered will include:

- Two or more electron atoms in strong electromagnetic fields;
- Doubly excited states and double ionization;
- Two electron wavepackets;
- Electronic/vibrational wavepackets.

The conference will be preceded by a workshop on "Non-perturbative methods for solving time dependent problems of atoms and molecules" to be held, in the same place, on 27-29 May 1996.
