BAGECO 5: Bacterial genetics and ecology

The fifth bacterial genetics and ecology symposium (BAGECO 5) will be held in Nafplion, Greece, on 25-29 May 1996. The conference is supported by the European Community's specific RTD programme in the field of biotechnology (BIOTECH II).
The conference will focus on the relationship between bacterial diversity and the environment. The variability of natural bacterial populations will be considered, and explained in terms of their natural habitat.
The symposium will have sessions on the following areas:
- Plasmid diversity;
- Gene sequence divergence and evolution of genes;
- Bacterial diversity.
