The Stainless Steel '96 international congress will take place in Neuss (Düsseldorf), Germany, on 3-5 June 1996. The congress, which is being supported by the European Coal and Steel Community (ECSC), will bring together specialists from all over the world to mark the 85th anniversary of the invention of stainless steel.

Stainless steels are increasingly gaining in significance in many fields of application. The congress will provide a forum for the exchange of information between manufacturers, processors and users of stainless steel, as well as between researchers and developers. The event will include technical sessions, a poster display, a technical exhibition and plant tours.

In particular, the congress will incorporate presentations of the results of research carried out by European research institutes and under the ECSC research programme.
