COLING'96, the 16th International Conference on Computational Linguistics, will take place in Copenhagen, Denmark, on 5-9 August 1996. It is organized by the Danish Center for Sprogteknologi, with support from the European Commission (DG XIII) under the Language Engineering sector of the Telematics Applications programme.

The conference will present, by means of poster sessions, demonstrations, tutorials and workshops, the latest developments in theoretical and practical computational linguistics. Conference themes include morphology, syntax, semantics and parsing, as well as sessions on resources and corpus-based methods, speech and language, and natural language processing (NLP) in multimedia. There will also be a book exhibition.
