INFO2000 information day in France

Following the Council Decision establishing the INFO2000 programme of 20 May 1996, the European Commission, DG XIII, is holding an information day in Paris, France, on 27 June 1996.
The aim is to provide prospective participants with details of the programme, which is designed to stimulate the development and use of multimedia content. In particular, the information day will present the contents of forthcoming calls under the programme. The first call will be for the creation of a multimedia information demonstration and support network (MIDAS), and the second will be for pilot projects in the following four areas:
- Economic exploitation of Europe's cultural heritage;
- Information services for businesses and in particular for SMEs;
- Geographical information;
- Scientific, technical and medical information.
