The second international conference on "Machining of advanced materials" will be held in Aachen, Germany, from 30 September to 1 October 1996. It is organized by VDI, the German INNOVATION Relay Centre, and the Fraunhofer Institute of Production Technology.
The conference will discuss developments in two principal themes, advanced ceramics and advanced metallic materials. Sessions will cover the following topics:
- Developments in the USA, Japan, Europe and Germany;
- Materials development;
- Part design and layout;
- Machining techniques;
- Part behaviour, service life, quality assurance and materials testing.
