People first - responding to the challenges of the Information Society
The colloquium will enable participants to comment and provide feedback on the Green Paper on social policy for the Information Society, which the Commission is expected to adopt in the second half of 1996. This represents the beginning of a consultation process which will take place over the following months, leading to the formulation of an action plan on the Information Society in the social field.
In particular, the colloquium will cover the following topics:
- Employment and economic structure in the Information Society;
- The future of work in the Information Society;
- Labour market and learning in the Information Society;
- Living in the Information Society.
Participants will include representatives of trade unions and employer organizations, national administrations, regional bodies, ICT developers and service providers, training associations, ICT project representatives, EU institutions, research bodies, etc.
