Culture and democracy revisited in the Global Information Society
The aim of the conference is for practitioners and researchers to develop a statement about the future of culture and democracy in a Global Information Society. Contributions, such as analysis of policies, ethics, structures and services, are invited on the following themes:
- Global Information Society;
- Cultural challenges;
- Democratic challenges.
The organizers invite papers of 4-5,000 words and, from students only, essays of 2,500 words maximum, which will be judged on perception and vision rather than the full academic rigour expected of a full paper. Submissions of abstracts should be made by 8 September 1996, with full papers by 30 November 1996. In both cases, submissions should be by e-mail and a hard copy sent by post.
