Calendar of COST workshops in 1996

The COST programme for European cooperation in the field of scientific and technical research is organizing a series of workshops throughout 1996 covering subjects such as chemistry, environment, material sciences, and forests and forestry products.

The COST programme is based upon a flexible set of arrangements enabling different national organizations, institutes, universities and industry (especially SMEs) to join forces and work together on pre-competitive research projects in a broad range of scientific and technical areas. COST currently coordinates part of the national research activities of 25 member countries (the 15 EU Member States, Croatia, Hungary, Iceland, Norway, Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia, Switzerland, the Czech Republic and Turkey). A total of 134 COST actions are presently under way.
