IT Security Courses for Health Care Workers

A series of training courses on information technology (IT) security matters for healthcare workers in Europe is being organized within the framework of the ISHTAR (Implementing Secure Healthcare Telematics Applications in Europe) project, financed under the Community's Telematics Applications programme.

The project's main objective is to address the problems of health data protection and health information systems within telematics applications in a horizontal way. This will be achieved through the implementation of programmes to raise the level of security awareness within healthcare establishments across Europe. The present series of training courses is part of this initiative. The first set in the series is to run in The Netherlands from 18 November 1996. The exact dates are as follows:

- IT Security Course for Health Care Managers: Amersfoot, The Netherlands, 18 November 1996;
- IT Security Course for Health Care Information System Users: Amersfoot, The Netherlands, 19 November 1996;
- IT Security Course for Health Care Technical Staff: Amersfoot, The Netherlands, 20-22 November 1996.
