A "Telematics Engineering" workshop will be held in Brussels, Belgium, on 13 November 1996. The workshop, which will focus on the "PEPITA Survey on prospects and issues for telematics applications in public and private organizations", will be of particular interest in view of the forthcoming call for proposals for the Telematics Applications programme, due to be launched in December 1996.

PEPITA is a Europe-wide survey on process engineering trends for public and private organizations requiring integrated telematics applications. The survey covers the various application sectors of the Telematics Applications programme. The main findings identify major opportunities and potential risks for new telematics applications. The significance of best practices in process re-engineering for telematics applications is also addressed.

The key results of the survey will be presented and the "open doors" and obstacles to the introduction of telematics systems in different user organizations will be discussed with participants.

Participation is not restricted to participants in Telematics Applications projects. A CD-ROM containing the results of the PEPITA survey will be distributed to participants at the workshop.
